This is the history of The Crescent Wheelers Cycling Club1903-1968.
The Club was disbanded in1968and joined forces with The Comet C.C. forming The Lea Valley Road Club in1969.
Some of the Crescent members took up official positions with the new Club.
In1981John Smithof The Crest C.C. approachedKenCravenandEric Beauchampwith the idea of reforming The Crescent. They were unable to call it The Crescent Wheelers Cycling Club as neither Club could reform under its old name.
So The Crescent Cycling Club came into being in 1982.
In1931 Harry Streetonwho joined in 1924 broke Club 24 hour record to 382 and three quarter miles.
Ernie Berrybroke the 12 hour record two years running and dominated the racing in the early and mid-thirties and was the first member to get inside 5 hours for the 100 miles and 12 hours.

THE DIAL: 100% mint, thewhite enamel dial with blackRoman numerals and in bright condition with no chips or hairlines and signed by the retailer, Bravingtons Renown. The dial with fine blue steel hands. Diameter is42 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely.
THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with agilded three quarter plate and a micro-star regulator, and gold screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and gold plated wheels. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 100 year old watch. The movement signed on the top plate, 15 jewels and made by Tavannes. The watch ismuch brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment. The watch is in very good working order for its age.
THE CASE: 96% mint, the 14k gold filled case measures an impressive51 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly . The case fully markedwith a case number of 630,509 and marked, Dennision, Moon and 20 years grade. Therear cover in fine condition, with a few fine scratches a small ding or so. The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use.
