La revue Playboy dans sa version US est une mine de trésors graphiques, sources dinspiration de bon nombre dillustrateurs contemporains. Les photos dites de charme sont effectivement désuètes à plus dun titre mais lensemble reste un formidable zoom arrière sur lAmerican Way of Life condamnée aujourdhui (et souvent à juste titre) par la doxa dominante...

Remarquable : un entretien avec Calvin Klein, un article de Peter Collier et David Horowitz sur la dynastie des Kennedy, on revient sur Ola Ray playmate de Juin 1980, celle de ce mois de mai est Patty Duffek : si je ne vends pas cet exemplaire assez rare à ce prix ce sera certainement un des derniers que je garderai jalousement.. et un portfolio de 12 pages sur les Young Lovers (cest plus joli que gigolos et moins que sigisbées)(quant aux cougars, elles navaient encore reçu ce sobriquet)...

Cet exemplaire de 226 pages est complet et en bel état pour un magazine de près de quarante années...

La qualité et la diversité des papiers est encore dactualité, permettant les pop-up et diverses fenêtres de présentation. La chromo est également "flamboyante" avec une trame à la hauteur.

Illustrations de Rowland Wilson, Gahan Wilson, David Levine, Harvey Kurtzman, Will Elder (Little Annie Fanny), Buck Brown...
